The Princeton Garden Statesmen Barbershop Chorus is a friendly, award-winning a cappella chorus, and chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society who love to sing.
Rated among the top a capella choruses in the region, we are hobbyists who diligently put such quality and emotion into our music that we hope you will feel the goose bumps of inspiration, humor and patriotic pride or just feel a wow at the end of our song.
We enjoy singing at formal and informal venues such as:
-
vocal concerts;
-
outdoor festivals;
-
dinner theatres;
-
churches;
-
clubhouses;
-
malls;
-
public theaters;
-
competitions; and
-
anywhere great harmony, emotional energy, and friendliness is appreciated
We can also provide quartets to sing at homes, businesses, parties, anniversaries, and special occasions.
Note: We are a non-profit organization fully tax deductible, bonded, and insured and any paid performances are only to fund the organization and further the world of music. (See our history)

Our Repertoire
Have you ever enjoyed a four-part group singing harmony in a movie, at a theme park, in a church, or even at your front door? Then you know that just about any type of song can be sung in harmony including spiritual, patriotic, holiday, show tune, romantic and other types of music. Our style can even include jazz, choral, or even 6-part or 8-part harmony.
Brief History
The Princeton Garden Statesmen has had the goal of performing, education [including youth music education programs], and friendly competition against other choruses since 1969. Our motto - Keep the Whole World Singing - is taken from our parent organization, The Barbershop Harmony Society (of which we are a chapter).
Founded in 1938 as the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America (SPEBSQSA) Inc., the National Barbershop Harmony Society, is more than the quartets and choruses to which you listen. It is the largest all-male singing organization in the world, with 35,000 members in North America and another 4000, in eight affiliated organizations worldwide.
Men in all professions come together to experience the fellowship that is created by this unique art form. Barbershop style is one of the four original American musical art forms along with Jazz, Gospel and the American Cowboy Song.
